Testimonials for Ann Seward's Animal Portraits

Below are various testimonials which have been fed back to Ann Seward with regards to the quality of her work, the character likeness, and the punctuality of her service:

Yet again you have surpassed yourself with your portrait of my lurcher Lydia! Way back in 1991 I commissioned you to paint Liam, Lydia's grandfather and remember only too well the feeling of trepidation welling within me as I drove down to Bradford on Avon to collect the finished article. What needless worry - in fact I burst into tears on seeing his portrait. Ann, you captured his likeness completely, and I have loved the painting ever since. So much so, that in 1995 I asked you to paint his daughter Perfect Rose. Her beauty shines through in your exquisite painting, and once more I have a piece of artwork to treasure. This brings us to 2010 when I commissioned you once again to paint the third member of my lurcher family, Lydia who is Perfect  Rose's daughter. And once again you have produced the most fantastic likeness - a portrait which shows all of Lydia's innate qualities.
How can I thank you enough for three such wonderful paintings which totally encapsulate the family line.
Many, many thanks,

C.D. Hereford

Fabulous...........

.....once we had decided that we wanted a portrait of our older Springer Spaniel, Dexter, we searched the internet for several months looking at the work of a number of artists. We finally decided to commission Ann Seward. We arranged to take Dexter to meet Ann in order that she could experience some of his character. Ann took a number of photographs of Dexter and spent time explaining the options for the portrait. We decided that, as well as a head and shoulders image, we would have 2 small pencil sketches of Dexter in different poses to the bottom left and right of the picture. Our concern had always been that the picture would be technically flawless but would not capture Dexter’s essence. The dilemma would then be whether we wanted a painting that looked like Dexter but didn’t express his personality. So, it was with great trepidation that we then went to view the completed picture. Our fears were unfounded. Not only was the painting technically brilliant but it was Dexter. From the way his fur had been painted to the fall of his ears and the light in his eyes: we were absolutely delighted. The 2 pencil sketches also perfectly captured Dexter in typical poses. It was so worth the wait. Since then, Dexter has unfortunately died, but his portrait hangs at the top of the stairs and I say good morning to him every day. We also now have 2 further portraits of our other Springers, Katie and Quigley. These paintings are as superb as the first and we would highly recommend Ann to anyone who wants a wonderful, special reminder of a much loved pet.

Firstly just to say a very big thank you for the most beautiful painting you have just finished for my partner as a surprise birthday present of his gundog. I would just like to say that Ann never got to meet "Tide" to take any of her own photos or to capture her character / presence. Ann has done a truly amazing painting that looks so realistic and the detail is perfect. This is the first time I have had any animals painted, and I would most certainly ask Ann again to do the next! For anyone who is considering having their animal painted I would defiantly recommend Ann without any hesitation - Thank you".

The painting of Ben has now been up for a month and every time I look at him from different angles I notice different features and even elements of his character which you have captured so successfully. We are absolutely delighted - Ben will now be with us forever.

"I can't tell you how thrilled Rupert is with the picture of "Holly" - his mouth just dropped and he kept saying "I can't believe it"! .. you have really 'caught' her look and I know it will give Rupert great pleasure for the rest of his life."
L.S.F. London

"Sheer delight... I have had my dog for over 10 years and feel I know her very well, yet you managed to capture her every detail on canvas and made me feel that the picture was three-dimensional."
JESW Oxford.

"It really is a superb portrait. It captures his expressions and character quite magically."
CH, Somerset.

"Love my painting of Monty. You really have made a super job of him without making him 'chocolate-boxy'. It's him to a 'T'
MS County Durham.

"The picture has exceeded our expectations and to say that we are thrilled is an understatement. It is a joy to find a picture of a hare that looks like a hare; in fact I'll go as far as to say that I chased that very hare for more than one Saturday afternoon!"
TH, Oxon.

"Thank you. It's Ben to a 'T', you can even see his brain working 'what are these idiots up to now?'"
CE, Essex.

"Cressy, Honeybun and Saffie were commissioned as a present, and a total surprise for me. I treasure this picture as Ann has managed to capture the individual characters of these three generations. It will always remind me of those who gave this to me and my three gorgeous girlies. I strongly recommend Ann's work to you all"
Ginny Scrope, Hungerford

"The painting of our three girls Amy Pip and Tara remains in pride of place. Every time we look at it every feature of their personalities comes out, appearing more real each time."
BP, Wiltshire.
